Oxford residents will soon have some answers stemming from an investigation into the Nov. 30, 2021, high-school mass shooting.
Guidepost Solutions, hired by the district to  conduct the investigation, announced  Tuesday that the initial  report on the incident will be released in January, 2023, according to the company’s executive vice president, Bradley Dizik.
Dizik told Oxford school board members two reports will be released.
The January report will focus on a review of current security and threat assessment practices and provide recommendations.
“Our second report will provide a full accounting of the events leading up to, on and after Nov. 30, 2021,” said Dizik. “This report will focus on the answers that the victims’ families and the Oxford community have been demanding.”
The second report will focus on four areas – governance, systems, procedures and judgements on the incident. The date that report will be released hasn’t yet been announced.
“Our report will pull no punches,” said Dizik. “Our mandate is to provide the Oxford community and the victims’ families with transparency.”
He said critical witnesses within the school district have yet to be interviewed; half of the 108 voluntary interviews have been completed.
Dizik said Dan Mullins, attorney for the district’s insurance company, SET-SEG, has promised witnesses will sit down with Guidepost once they have given depositions in civil and criminal proceedings.
“We are going to hold him to that,” Dizik said.
Dizik said confidential, voluntary interviews continue and anyone can still come forward to talk to Guidepost.
Anyone who would like to schedule an interview can contact Morgan Maiorino at mmaiorino@guidepostolutions.com.
