COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 13-year-old girl was taken to a hospital early Sunday morning after she was struck by gunfire at the Wedgewood Village Apartments, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
A press release from police says an unknown suspect fired shots into an apartment located near the intersection of Briggs Road and Kingsford Road in the Hilltop neighborhood at 1:29 a.m.
The girl was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital with a minor injury.

Just last month, a 13-year-old boy died following a shooting at the Wedgewood Village Apartments. In another incident in October, a 37-year-old woman and a 9-year-old boy were injured after someone fired shots through the front door of their residence at the Wedgewood Village Apartment complex.
10 Investigates found there have been 17 homicides in or around the Wedgewood apartments since 2017 — most of the victims were 25 years old or younger.
